Mpox in China
As of 13 February 2025, a total of seven cases of clade Ib mpox have been reported in China since the beginning of 2025. The sixth case was a close contact of the imported case reported on 3 January 2025. The seventh case was associated with travel to the United Arab Emirates. Mpox in China ex DRC
On 9 January 2025, China reported five confirmed cases of mpox clade Ib. The first case had been living in DRC where clade Ib has been reported. The other cases were close contacts of the first case. Please see our Topics in Brief article for further details on mpox.
